Soulala is a horror feature film set in Saudi Arabia about a man who gets a mysterious call from his estranged mother who claims she is dying but discovers upon visiting her remote date farm that she has no intention of ever letting him leave.
Soulala is an elevated horror film that explores the cultural obligations that we have to our parents and how they can be twisted and manipulated for malicious purposes. Pulling from elements of mysticism and the occult, Soulala is a twisted tale of treachery and witchcraft in rural Saudi Arabia.
Soulala was awarded the 2023 development grant from Red Sea Film Festival, and the 2024 Production grant from Ithra. It was co-produced with Desert Motion Pictures in Jordan.
